Parenting

Marissa has a 20 year background in Early Childhood Disability, Education and Parenting with a particular interest in families and children with special needs. Her areas of expertise are in childhood developmental disorders including autism as well as parenting issues and behavioural difficulties such as ;

  • Defiance

  • Aggression, Night-time and Morning battles

  • Fussy eating

  • Bed wetting

Marissa is a trained facilitator for group and individual parenting programs including Triple-P, Signposts for better behaviour and ABCD parenting for adolescents. She has worked for 14 years at the Parenting Resource Centre on many projects including Raising Children Website,the development of training materials and the delivery of Early Days (Autism parent education program). She is a practice coordinator for facilitators of the MyTime program- a Nationally Funded peer support for parents of children with a disability or chronic medical condition.
